MO GAWDAT – SOLVE FOR HAPPY

Mo Gawdat is the Chief Business Officer for Google [X], a serial entrepreneur and author of “Solve for Happy; Engineering Your Path to Joy” (2017). Through his 12 year research on the topic of happiness, he created an algorithm and a repeatable well engineered model to reach a state of uninterrupted happiness regardless of the circumstances of life. Mo’s happiness model proved highly effective. And, in 2014, was put to the ultimate test when Mo lost his son Ali to preventable medical error during a simple surgical procedure. Solve For Happy is the pillar for a mission Mo has committed to as his personal moonshot, a mission to deliver his happiness message to 10 million people around the world.

About Mo

Mo joined Google in 2007 to kick-start its business in Emerging Markets. He is fascinated by the role that technology plays in empowering people in emerging communities and has dedicated years of his career towards that passion. Over a period of 6 years, Mo started close to half of Google’s operations worldwide. In 2013 he moved to Google’s infamous innovation arm, Google [X] where he led the business strategy, planning, sales, business development and partnerships. [X] does not attempt to achieve incremental improvements in the way the world works, but instead, it tries to develop new technologies that will reinvent the way things are and deliver a radical, ten fold—10X—improvement. The business team under Mo’s leadership has designed innovative business models analogous to the disruptive technologies [X] creates, and has created deep partnerships and global deals that enabled [X] to thrive and build products fit for the real world.

Alongside his career, Mo remained a serial entrepreneur who has cofounded more than 20 businesses in fields such as health and fitness, food and beverage and real estate. He served as a board member in several technology, health and fitness and consumer goods companies as well as several government technology and innovation boards in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. He mentors tens of start-ups at any point in time.

Mohammad speaks Arabic, English, and German. Outside of work, when he’s not writing or reading up on business and the latest technology innovations and trends, Mo spends his time drawing charcoal portraits, creating mosaics, carpentry and indulging in his passion for restoration of classic cars.

WOUTER DE JONG – DEFEAT YOUR INNER CRITIC

After a career as a legal advisor and an actor, Wouter nowadays helps other people to make the most out of life. He believes that people will become happy by refinding their own strength and being able to create the life they really want. Wouter knows from his own experience that it isn’t easy to find happiness and satisfaction in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it externally. His own journey on this path has enriched his life, and he hopes other people will find depth and enrichments in their own journeys. That’s why he created MINDGYM, a collective of like-minded people and colleagues that aspire to achieve well-being for everyone.

Being happy is also good for your career. It increases your creativity, problem solving skills,  productivity (31% higher!) and even makes you better in sales. So instead of thinking we should be successful to be happy we should turn it around, we should be happy so we can be successful. One very important step in achieving that is removing your inner critic.

Everyone has that little annoying voice in their head that discourages you and that tells you negative things. This workshop will teach you how to change the inner dialogue into a supportive dialogue that helps you to achieve your goals rather than complicating life for yourself. The workshop will use insights such as Kirsten Neff’s self-compassion method and other insights that Wouter de Jong has learned during his own soul searching journey.

LINDA COUSSEMENT – YOU ARE OKAY

It might not always feel like it, but you’re probably not the only person in the world who has ever felt ‘that’ way. As a matter of fact, with 7,5 Billion people in the world, that would be close to impossible!

That means that you’re not as weird or crazy as you might sometimes think. Instead, it means that, even when you’re feeling ‘off’, you are still very much okay!

In this short, fun, and interactive workshop we will use facts, figures, feelings, and, most importantly, experiences to help us recognize that everything we feel and go through is part of being human. It might sometimes be messy and no fun at all, but the more we can understand and accept ourselves and our humanity, the easier it becomes to let some of the things that bother us go and invite more and more peace into our lives.

About Linda

Linda has over 12 years of  experience in (corporate) business consulting, spent a few years in the Amsterdam startup scene, and has been on the entrepreneurial path ever since. Personally, she has done years and years of soul searching, solo traveling, yoga teaching, reading, personal development training, coaching and crying whilst sitting in a circle of beautiful people talking about their feelings. She is about personal development and growth. In fact, one of her ambitions is to use personal development to create world peace. It might seem overly big and naive but really…she can’t NOT do it. If that makes sense…

She has always felt she missed a manual to life. She felt she never had any clue what this life was all about and how she was supposed to behave. And she thought that everybody else did. Now that she is a bit older and has figured some things out for herself (she did pretty well actually), She has realized that nobody has any freakin’ clue on what’s going on. She believes that empathy is the first step to world peace, that’s why she has made a series of short documentaries on very diverse called people, called How It Is To Be You (www.howitistobeyou.com). In addition, she has also written the Everyday Guide to World Peace.

RÉMON DE MUIJNCK – BREATHING WORKSHOP, THE WIM HOF METHOD BY MINDCOOLNESS

The Wim Hof Method increases your focus, it gives you more energy and happy hormones (both by the breathing method and cold training), it strengthens your cardiovascular system (both by breathing and the cold), it pumps more oxygen in your cells, alkalizes your system, increases physical performance, decreases inflammation proteins, and has a direct effect on your hormone system and immune system.

In this workshop we explain and explore the three components of the scientifically based Wim Hof Method:

– breathing techniques

– mindset/ focus

– cold immersion (optional)

About Rémon de Muijnck

Rémon de Muijnck is a certified instructor of the Wim Hof (Iceman) Method. With his company Mindcoolness he trains diverse groups and organizations in methods around cold exposure, breathing techniques and mindset.
After his bachelor in Asian Trade, Rémon spent one year in China and started online marketing. He first joined the start-up world, and later Google Marketing Solutions, where he started to teach daily breathing session to his entire department.
As part of his training, Rémon did a cold exposure camp with Wim Hof in Poland. During the second climb of Mount Snezka, with temperature of -35 degrees and wind speeds over 100 km per hour, the team had to decide to abort the climb. This was a very valuable lesson to Remon; follow your feeling to know where your limits are and not just go on based on will power and mind set. Another very valuable lesson about listening to your own body came from his experience at the Rotterdam Marathon. He managed to complete the marathon without any prior training or preparation solely with the use of the breathing exercises. As a trainer he is very patient and clear and has had trained many people since 2015, both in the Netherlands as well as abroad.
